About the area
Cambria is set in the centre of the semi rural village of Galhampton which offers a thriving and friendly community, an active village hall and a parish church and is home to the annual ‘Party In The Park’ festival.
The nearby market town of Castle Cary is known for its numerous high quality shops and local amenities, including a doctors surgery, post office, butchers, two bakers, chemist, banks, tea shops, restaurants, public houses, a post office and library. The town also has well regarded schooling including a primary school and Ansford Academy.
There is a mainline station to London Paddington and the West Country and 3miles to the south is the A303 road link giving good road access. The Abbey town of Sherborne is also within a short drive.
Both Yeovil and Bath are within easy commuting distance and the area has an excellent choice of both state and independent schools including Hazlegrove, Millfield and the schools at Sherborne and Bruton.
The house is set back from the village lane behind a high laurel hedgerow providing good privacy.
The porch opens into the entrance hall which connects the main reception rooms of the house. On the right hand side there is a lovely dual aspect sitting room with French doors leading out to the seating terrace at the rear.
The kitchen & breakfast room requires some updating but offers a a good amount of storage and worktop space with further room for a double oven and fridge freezer. Adjacent is the utility room which has further storage cupboards and a rear door leading out to the parking area.
The dining room is a well proportioned room which could potentially be incorporated into the kitchen and breakfast room to create a large ‘wow’ factor open plan room (STP.)
Also on the ground floor is a shower room.
Upstairs there are four generous double bedrooms and a well appointed shower room.
From the village lane there is a large driveway providing parking for several cars leading up to the double garage. The parking area is flanked by a lawned front garden and to the rear there is a large lawned garden with a lovely aspect beyond. Within the garden there are well tended flower beds and also a private sitting terrace taking in the views.
Mains water, drainage and electricity. Oil central heating.
From Castle Cary head south on South Street out of the town until you reach the T-junction about a mile south. From here turn right onto the A359 towards Yeovil. Just after the pub turn left into Galhampton via Long Street. The house can be found as the lane bends round to the right on your left hand side.
