To the front there’s a good-size front garden and driveway with parking for several cars, and to the rear a sunny south-facing back garden. Ridgmont stands back from the road behind a bank of shrubs, and is a handsome building with painted elevations under a tiled roof.

To the right is a very pleasant sitting room again with pine floorboards and a large bay window . The living room is also a good size, faces south and has french doors and large windows to a sunny terrace and garden. It also has a fireplace and display alcoves. To the left of the hall is a comfortable snug with a double aspect, fitted bookshelves and a store loft. The dining room has space for a large table and chairs. Leading off through an archway is the kitchen with a tiled floor, plenty of units and space for appliances. Also on the ground floor is a utility and a shower room. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms and a family bathroom.

The integral annexe. A door from the sitting room opens into the hall which also has a front external door and store cupboards. There's a sitting room , a neat well arranged kitchen, a shower room and a bedroom with fitted wardrobes.

Outside

On the south side of the house are several stores. The front garden is protected and screened by hedges and provides plenty of parking space. The garden on the rear south facing side is absolutely delightful. It's mainly lawned with a large paved patio area, mature shrubs and there's also a shed.

About the area

About the area Wedmore has been an important village since Saxon times. This can be seen in the attractive architecture, which combines cottages and grand houses from the Georgian and Victorian periods, with a number of fine historic buildings such as the medieval church and 16th century coaching inn.  It is also reflected in an extensive range of clothing, food and other interesting shops including a delicatessen, fishmongers and butchers, as well as a chemist, post office and general store, plus pubs, restaurants and tearooms.    There is a wide range of cultural and sporting clubs and societies, e.g. swimming pools at both Cheddar and Wells, sailing and windsurfing clubs at Cheddar Reservoir, the Badgworth Equestrian Centre, Wedmores 18 hole golf course, floodlit AstroTurf tennis courts, indoor and outdoor bowling greens, football and cricket grounds, plus a theatre club and the well-regarded Wedmore Opera.

***

The Cathedral City of Wells is approximately 8 miles away and also provides a good range of business, recreational and shopping facilities. City shopping centres are available at Taunton, Bath and Bristol (each approximately 25 miles away). Communications in the area are good with access to the M5 (J22 - 10 minutes) connecting to the M4 (J16). A local train service from Highbridge (9 miles) links with the intercity train services at Taunton and Bristol Temple Meads to London Paddington, taking approximately 1.30 hours. Bristol International Airport is 16 miles away.   There are excellent state schools in the area including Wedmore First School, Hugh Sexeys Middle School which has an Outstanding Ofsted rating, and the high performing Kings of Wessex Academy. Independent schools include Wells Cathedral School, Sidcot, Millfield and Taunton School.
