A spacious and contemporary four bedroom detached house, set in an excellent location in the heart of this sought after Somerset village.

Brosley stands prominently within the village, while maintaining superb privacy as it is set well above the village lane. The property has been refurbished extensively by the current owners, with a new kitchen, and three bath/shower room suites. There is ample room for a family, with the accommodation totalling nearly 2,400 sq. ft. At the front of the property, a porch area leads into the entrance hall which has parquet flooring and the staircase rising to the first floor galleried landing. Also within the hall, there is a cloakroom and storage beneath the stairs. The sitting room is located to the right hand side of the hall and is a lovely light and airy living room with a dual aspect, a continuation of the parquet flooring, wood burning stove and mullioned windows looking out.

At the back of the house, there is the kitchen dining room which is an exceptionally social living area with plenty of space to entertain. The kitchen itself has a breakfast bar, granite worktops, and bespoke units with integral appliances including a wine cooler, gas hob, dishwasher, mid-level double oven and grill, plus a fridge freezer. Leading off the kitchen there is a rear hall, accessing the garden through and rear door. Internally there are doors from the hall leading into a large utility room, and the garage where there is an office inside. Upstairs, there are four well-proportioned double bedrooms, all of which enjoying built-in storage. The master, and guest bedrooms both have modern en-suite shower rooms, and the further two bedrooms have use of the family bathroom. Within the bathroom, there is a free standing bath, separate walk-in shower, vanity unit and WC. Accessed from the landing, there is an airing cupboard and loft-hatch.

Brosley enjoys proportionately large external areas to the spacious internal accommodation. There is excellent frontage with lawned gardens and a flowering magnolia. The driveway leads through the front garden, up to an expansive parking area, and the garage. To the rear, there are further lawned gardens enjoying a good degree of privacy, a sunny seating terrace, and several useful garden stores.

About the area

Well known for being the home of Paul Nicholl’s racing stables and also Barber’s farmhouse cheese, Ditcheat is a very popular and ancient village (mentioned in the Doomsday Book as belonging to Glastonbury Abbey) 10 miles south of Wells and 3 miles north of Castle Cary with its main line service to London. These and the other nearby towns of Glastonbury, Shepton Mallet and Bruton all offer ample facilities. The village has a primary school, church, a very good pub and restaurant. The nearby town of Bruton dates back to Roman times and today is a charming small town with various shops and amenities, including "The Newt in Somerset" plus ‘Hauser & Wirth’ Art & Exhibition Gallery and the ever popular dining experience ‘At The Chapel’.
