Location

Wedmore is a quintessential "English Village" being a type now rarely found. Pilcorn Street runs from the heart of the village past the Church and is a prime residential area being within a short walk of the centre. The edge of the village is also close by giving access to many beautiful walks in the surrounding countryside.

Description

Sheppards is a semidetached period house which has been lovingly improved and cared for over the years. It is a handsome building and inside it has retained many period details which are complimented by contemporary benefits including gas central heating. An oak framed porch shelters the front door which opens into a dining room which immediately demonstrates the character of the property. There is a flagstone floor, ceiling beams, stonework and a fireplace with an inside wood burning stove. The sitting room is it most inviting room and follows in the same style with flagstones and a fireplace with wood burning stove. On each side are alcoves with bookshelves and cupboards. There’s also a window seat with cupboards beneath it. Off the dining room is a flagstone floored area hallway which doubles as a snug having room for a comfortable sofa. The adjacent galley kitchen is well arranged with hand built painted cupboards, worksurfaces, tiling and shelving.

****

Also on the ground floor is the shower room with basin, wc and shower cubicle. Approached from a door in the snug/hallway is an outside covered terrace which is very well sheltered and makes a wonderful “out of doors” garden room whatever the weather. It also has a small storeroom. First floor The staircase rises to a first floor landing, 3 double bedrooms and a bathroom. Two of the bedrooms are well equipped with extensive fitted wardrobes. The bathroom is also well appointed and has panelling to dado height.

Outside

The outside garden room has steps to a splendid walled cottage garden with plenty of privacy. It has paved pathways and terraces, lawns, flower and shrub borders and mature trees. In addition there’s a tucked away garden shed and area for the bins etc.
