About the area

Babcary is one of Somerset’s charming and historic villages set in beautiful countryside between Somerton, Glastonbury and Castle Cary. Recorded in the Domesday Book, it’s an attractive small village bordering of the Sparkford Vale. The medieval church is close by where one of the earliest games of 'fives' was recorded. Elsewhere in the village is the Red Lion, an excellent pub and restaurant dating from the 17th century, and the well used Village Hall and playing fields. All these factors contribute to the friendly and active village community.

Glastonbury, Wells, Castle Cary and Sherborne are all within a short drive as are Castle Cary and Yeovil Rail Stations with main lines to London. There are many golf courses in the area with National Hunt racing at Wincanton and Taunton and flat racing at Bath. There are excellent state and independent schools in the area including Millfield, Bruton, Hazelgrove, Wells Cathedral, Downside and Sherborne.

Chapel Yard is a superb development, built in 2015, of just a few properties each with a modern rustic barn style finish. Number four is in the centre of a terrace of three chalet style bungalows and has attractive stone elevations under a slate tiled roof. The properties were built using high quality fixtures and fittings with oak doors throughout and energy efficient LED spotlights in every room. Upon entering the property you are greeted by a lovely welcoming entrance hall with a high ceiling and the staircase with oak balustrade rising to the first floor. The sitting room at the front of the house is a lovely light room with a pretty southerly outlook.

At the rear of the property is the kitchen which has an excellent range of fitted units with integral appliances including a fridge/freezer, Smeg washing machine and Bosch dishwasher, oven and hob. There are granite worktops, LED down-lights, beautiful tiled splash backs and a tiled floor. A door from the kitchen leads out to the garden. On the ground floor there is a double bedroom with a built in wardrobe and patio door leading outside. Across the hall is a contemporary shower room enjoying a walk in shower with rainfall shower head, floor and wall tiles, heated towel rail, w/c and basin. Upstairs is the master suite which benefits from a superb luxury en-suite shower room and a large built in wardrobe. This is a substantial room with light pouring in through the Velux windows above.

To the front of the property there is a beautiful border full of flourishing flowers and maturing shrubs. At the rear of the house is the back garden which is fully secure and laid to patio for easy maintenance. The low maintenance makes this property an ideal lock lock up and go or indeed investment. Equally the property would make a perfect home and given the immaculate presentation any buyer could simply walk straight in with nothing but a suitcase! A paved driveway leads to two parking spaces owned by the property.
