Location

West Horrington is a small village at the end of a no-through road about a mile from of the edge of Wells. It's a small cluster of farms, houses and cottages together with a well-regarded primary school. Kingdom Cottage is in the heart of the village in a peaceful and tranquil setting.

Description

The cottage is very good looking with excellent stonework under a tiled roof. Internally the windows are double glazed and there is an air source heat pump with underfloor heating on both floors. All of the living areas face south, flooding the cottage with sunlight resulting in a freshness which is complemented by the design and finish of the building.

Accommodation

About the area

Wells is the smallest city in England (population about 11,000) lying in beautiful countryside between the Somerset Levels and the Mendip Hills – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Wells medieval centre has local markets twice a week, good restaurants, a thriving high street and many important ancient buildings, including the Cathedral and moated Bishops Palace and gardens. There are four major supermarkets on the edge of the city. Wells Leisure Centre has the usual facilities of gym and swimming pool to add to Wells Rugby Club, Tennis club, Bowling club and Golf course. Throughout the year Wells hosts festivals for Music, Literature, Art and Food, and has twinned links with Burgundy, the Rhineland and Northern Italy. There are excellent state & independent schools in the area which include several good primary schools, Wells Blue School, Strode College, Wells Cathedral School, Downside, All Hallows and Millfield . Wells is a transport hub for bus services, including daily services to London. Main line trains run from Castle Cary and Bristol International Airport is 35 minutes drive away.

Directions

From Wells take the Bath Road, continue up the hill (B3139) passing the turning to South Horrington on the right. Having passed the primary school on your right, immediately take the turning on the left to West Horrington. Proceed into the village, past Cheese Yard entrance on right, round next sharp right hand bend, up hill a short distance then take next left. Continue around corner and Kingdom Cottage is on your right with parking area.
